In close cooperation with the engineers of HMC, Winel supplied a complete new watertight door system on board of the DCV Balder.

The installation consists of a large number of horizontal and vertical sliding doors and hinged doors. All doors are designed and tested to withstand a water pressure over 45 mWc. The engineers of Winel designed a complete new control system based on PLC technics in which others systems, as valves for ventilation and ballast water, were integrated.

Service engineers went offshore in the Gulf of Mexico for the final commissioning. Winel fulfilled the aim of HMC to do the job during the operation of the Balder so the downtime of   the DCV was as less as possible.
